Ms. Stacy Stokes Batts, LMSW, LCDC

Stacy Stokes Batts earned her BSW and MSW from Texas State University. Stacy’s professional experience as a licensed practitioner of 26 years focused on the fields of substance abuse treatment and education in both non-profit and public academic settings. She maintains two professional licenses in the state of Texas: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). 

Ms. Stokes Batts worked in the non-profit sector for 15 years focusing on substance abuse classroom education, offender education, prevention, intervention, as well as coordinating out-patient treatment programs both in the community and inside incarceration facilities. She also worked for eight years in higher education through the Student Affairs division focusing on substance abuse education, sanction completion, leadership development, and retention. In 2018, Stacy accepted a full-time Lecturer position in the School of Social Work at Texas State University teaching in both the BSW and MSW programs. She served as the BSW Associate Program Director for three years (2020-2023). 

Her practice interests include substance abuse, mental health, family systems, and grief work. Stacy is an active member in the San Marcos, Texas local community. She is an accomplished educator, presenter, performer, founding advisor for The Echoes A Cappella Group at Texas State University, and the social work ethics consultant for Dancing Moose Productions, Inc.
