“Dr. Ozturk earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Adnan Menderes University in Turkey and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Temple University in Philadelphia. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama's School of Social Work. Following her doctoral studies, she pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in forensic social work.
Dr. Ozturk’s areas of expertise and research encompass domestic violence, family, immigrant issues, and forensic social work. Recently, she served as a program evaluator researcher at a non-profit organization providing services to individuals involved with the criminal justice system, as part of her postdoctoral work. Her research employs a variety of methodologies, including qualitative, mixed methods, and quantitative approaches, focusing on intimate partner survivors, immigrants, and individuals involved with the criminal justice system. Dr. Ozturk also has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at various universities, covering subjects such as human behavior, international social work, and both practice and research courses.
Research Interest: Domestic Violence, family, immigrants, refugees, and forensic social work.“
